Liturgy Committee

The Liturgy Committee of Saint Catherine Siena parish meets with the music ministry to plan the liturgical celebrations of the parish around the various liturgical seasons, including Advent, Lent, Easter, Holy Days and Ordinary Time. The liturgy committee mission is to foster reverent, full and active participation of the parish at liturgies, prepare effective liturgical ministers, and to provide an appropriate and inviting environment for liturgical celebrations.

Liturgical ministries include:

Greeters are present at the entrance of the church before weekend Masses to greet and welcome parishioners and guests to the Mass celebration.

Liturgy coordinators check in the assigned ministers, light the candles and prepare the space for Mass.

Lectors proclaim the scriptures and lead the general intercessions during the liturgy.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest in distribution of Communion to the faithful.

Bread Bakers prepare the bread for Sunday mass. Bread Recipe

Art & Environment Ministers complement the worship space and the church building with decorations that highlight the liturgical calendar and enhance the worship environment.

Training for Liturgical ministers is offered in early Fall of each year and usually takes about one hour and thirty minutes. Training can also be offered on a one-on-one basis as needed throughout the year.
